Pay Pal - How to make a donate button for your website

You may have noticed a new button on the right hand side that says "PayPal." I created a button so those of you who feel a little burning itch in your money pocket can donate a small sum towards the purchase of my "New Computer." Nothing is more frustrating to a computer geek than a computer that won't keep up with her daily tasks. Its time to upgrade! (If you aren't familiar with PayPal, you can learn about it here. Its really cool).

If you would like to create a PayPal button for your blog, its pretty easy. Here's how you can do it.

#1. Obtain a PayPal account if you don't have one already.

#2. Log in to PayPal, and navigate to the tab that says "Merchant Services."

#3. On the Merchant Services page, look down on the left hand side, and select the word "Donate." Here is a screen shot to show you what I am talking about.

#4. This will take you to a page where you can choose what attributes you want your button to have. I chose to leave the dollar amount blank so you can donate any amount you want.

#5. Once you click on the button at the bottom of the page that says "Create Button Now" you will be redirected to a page that has a box with custom code in it just for you. Copy it.

#6. Navigate to your web page and add the html code where you want it to appear on your site. If you are using blogger, you add a page element (the html\javascript kind). Just paste the copied text into the new page element text box. It will look like this.

Thats it. Now random people can send you money! Woot!
